A HUGE THANK YOU!
Apex would like to thank all of you who came out and supported us at our very first fundraiser thrown by Pit Fire Pizza Co. in North Hollywood last month! You shared your love with Apex’s wolfdog ambassadors Taboo and Kona and helped raise awareness and funds for a cause that means so much to us all! A special thanks to Assistant General Manager Doug Siskowic, the Pitfire Staff, and Pitfire Pizza Company for your support, hosting the event, and donating 10% of all sales during the benefit!
HOW YOUR DONATIONS ARE HELPING
EDUCATION: People are strongly effected by first-hand experiences. One of our main goals in environmental and wolf education is being able to provide that personal interaction with our wolfdog ambassadors. Having this powerful and often moving experience helps to dispel negative (and false) beliefs about wolves and inspires people to join in the mission of protecting wolves in the wild. In order to do this, we need to have special insurance, which is expensive. Thanks to you, we were able to acquire insurance coverage that will allow us to give school presentations, and presentations both in the community and privately over the next year!
RESCUE: Just weeks after the fundraiser, we were asked to assist with an emergency rescue situation involving three young wolfdog pups and their mother who was extremely sick and unable to care for them. For the full story and how you can help, click here. Rescue, although incredibly rewarding, can be an expensive job. Thankfully, your donations are helping us save lives.
DAILY CARE: Pounds of raw meat in the morning, holistic high protein kibble at night, fresh buckets of water daily, misting systems to keep cool during the scorching summer months, health maintenance…and now puppy formula, baby wee pads, tons of paper towels and loads of laundry! – daily care of a wolfdog adds up! Most of what’s donated to Apex each month goes towards keeping the pack happy and healthy. Thanks for helping to make sure these animals have the best quality of life that we can offer and helping us have the funds to rescue more in need.
