An Introduction

Rescue is at the heart of our operation. We are dedicated to the care and well-being of the animals who make up the Apex pack, striving to provide the most fulfilling lives possible. Apex prioritizes their safety and happiness, providing comfortable habitats, daily exercise and enrichment, superior healthcare and diet, and lots of attention and love. Our relationships with the members of our pack are built on trust and respect, the two most important values to both wolves and humans.

It is through these strong bonds we are able to succeed in our other core missions: education and advocacy.

Our educational programming includes free school presentations, fostering a Junior Volunteer Program, as well as national school advocacy program The Apex Roundtable. We co-founded and host one of the largest annual wolf educational events in the country, Sedona Wolf Week, and offer small group experiences both on and off-site and virtually. Members of our pack who are outgoing and enjoy interacting with people help us with this programming, becoming powerful ambassadors for their species. And, of course, all interaction with the pack is done safely, with each animal’s ultimate well-being in mind and their participation is completely on their own terms at all times.

By offering these uniquely personal and experiential programs, we are able to further our goal of bridging the gap between animals and humankind. This brings us closer to a future where the wolf — and all species — are highly valued, protected, and respected for the balance they bring to the ecosystem and for the gifts they offer humanity.
