Montana

ON THE FEDERAL LEVEL

Wolves need the protection of the Federal Government as soon as possible to ensure their survival.

Since wolves were officially taken off the Federal Endangered Species List in January 2021, many anti-wolf state legislators have taken full advantage in making their own decisions when it comes to wolves and the decision has been to exterminate them almost to extinction.

In February 2021, Wisconsin had one of the largest, most horrific wolf slaughters the country has ever seen, resulting 216 reported killings in a matter of only 60 hours and now other states are preparing to do the same thing.

At the same time, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and many other states are passing as many wolf killing bills as fast as they can just in case the Federal Government steps back in and protects them again. They’re allowing trapping, snaring, bludgeoning, running them over with snow mobiles, shooting from aircraft, drones, extended hunting seasons, and bounties for dead wolves. Montana is even trying to have some of these laws stated in their Constitution so they can never be revoked.

Wolves need the protection of the Federal Endangered Species Act as soon as possible.

Please take a moment to write the White House and tell President Biden you want an emergency re-listing of the Gray wolf as soon as possible due to the unethical mass genocide going on across our country on wolves and the inhumane means by which they are being killed.

CALLING THE WHITE HOUSE

1. Dial one of the following numbers, depending on who you’d like to reach and what you’d like to say:

o For Comments, call 202-456-1111 (TTY/TTD 202-456-6213) (answered by volunteers with the current administration).
o To reach the Switchboard, call 202-456-1414 (TTY/TTD Visitor's Office: 202-456-2121)(answered by White House staff members).

2. Follow any guidelines. When your call is answered, guidelines may be given by a person or automated program. Use your keypad to enter any extensions or information, as directed.

3. State your request. Ask to speak to the President or make another request. Though the President cannot likely take your call, you may be directed to someone else who will listen to your thoughts.

o If you are an expert in some field, and you wish to speak with the President, first contact the Cabinet member who would be responsible for that area. For example, an expert in teaching methods would need to contact the head of the Department of Education.

4. Hang up when you’re done. Press end or hang up the telephone when you have finished giving your message or speaking to a representative.
